Ostrich

Ostrich or common ostrich (Struthio Camelus) is one or two large flightless birds native to Africa, and is the only surviving member of Struthio family. In 2014, Somali ostriches were identified as unique species.

Common ostriches share the chain schema with kiwi, US, LIA and Turkey eaters. However, phylogenetic studies have shown that it is the sister group of all other members of the gnathod, so the escaped animals are the sister group of the extinct MOA. It has a unique appearance, long neck and legs, and can run at about 70 km / h (19 m / S; 43 mph), which is the fastest landing speed of all birds. Common ostriches are the largest living species of birds, and they spawn the most in any living bird (extinct elephant birds in Madagascar and giant trees in New Zealand).

The diet of ordinary ostriches is mainly composed of plants, although they also eat invertebrates. It lives in nomadic groups of five to 50 birds. When threatened, the ostrich either lies flat on the ground and hides or escapes. If it turns, it can kick the attack with its powerful feet. The way of mating varies by geographical area, but the territory men compete for the harem of two to seven women.

Common ostriches are cultivated all over the world, especially feathers, which are decorative and can also be used as feather dust. Its skin is used for leather products, meat is sold on the market, and its lean meat is a common point of sale.
