Polo shirt (also known as golf shirt and tennis shirt) is a shirt with a collar, usually two or three button placket and an optional pocket.

The three terms can be used interchangeably. Polo shirts are usually made of knitwear (not woven), usually piqu? Cotton, or less commonly interlocking cotton, silk, Merino wool or synthetic fibers. The formal length version of a shirt is called a polo dress.
