Renault is a French multinational car manufacturer founded in 1899. [8] The company produces all kinds of cars and vans. It used to manufacture trucks, tractors, fuel tanks, buses / coaches and automatic rail vehicles.

According to the data of the international organization of automobile construction, Renault is the 10th largest automobile manufacturer in the world in 2015, with 50.5% of its sales coming from outside Europe. The Renault Nissan alliance is the fourth largest automotive group.

Renault group is headquartered in Boulogne biengu, near Paris. As of April 2015, the French government owned 19.73% of Renault.

Renault Trucks (formerly known as Renault automotive industries) have been part of Volvo trucks since 2001. In 2008, Renault agriculture was 100% owned by Claas, a German manufacturer of agricultural equipment.

Since 2011, Renault and Nissan have jointly invested 4 billion euros ($5.16 billion) in eight electric vehicles in three to four years.

Renault is known for its role in motor racing, especially in rallies, formula one and Formula One racing. Renault's early work in the modeling of mathematical curves of car bodies is crucial in the history of computer graphics.
