Citroen is a leading French automaker and a member of PSA Peugeot Citroen Group since 1976. The group was founded in 1919 by French industrialist Andre Gustav Citroen (1878 – 1935). In 1934, the company established a reputation for innovative technology with "traction Avant". This car is the first batch of front wheel drive cars produced in large quantities in the world. It is also the first batch of cars with integrated body and no fixed mechanical parts of chassis. In 2009, the company celebrated its 90th anniversary on October 3.

In 1954, it produced the world's first hydraulic and pneumatic self leveling suspension system, and then in 1955, the revolutionary DS became the first mass production vehicle with modern disc brake, and in 1967, it introduced rotatable headlights in several models. A wider view of the winding road; these cars have won a variety of international and national awards, including three European cars of the year.

With its history of success in motor racing, it is the only automaker to win three different official titles from the FIA: five World Rally Championships, eight World Rally Championships and World Touring Car Championships. Since 1984, Citroen has been largely selling cars in China through the Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen joint venture, which has now become the main market for the brand. In 2014, Peugeot Citroen Group fell into serious financial difficulties, and Dongfeng Motor Company obtained the ownership.
