Walnuts are the nuts of any tree of the genus Juglans (Juglandaceae), especially Persian or English walnut. Technically speaking, walnut is the seed of nucleolus or nucleoplasm nut, so it is not a real plant nut. It is used for food after processing, for green when curing walnuts, or for food when their nuts are fully mature. Commercial sales of nut meat from black walnut in the East and walnut nuts from walnut are less. Walnut is rich in protein and essential fatty acids.

Walnut is the round single seed stone fruit of walnut tree, which is often used for meat when fully mature. After fully ripening, the wrinkled walnut shell can be seen after shelling. Generally, two segments (or three segments) can be seen on the market. During maturation, the shell becomes brittle and hard. The egg shell is surrounded by a kernel or meat and usually consists of two separate compartments. The kernel (usually sold as a shell of walnut kernel) is packaged in a brown seed coat that contains antioxidants. Antioxidants protect oil rich seeds from oxygen in the atmosphere, thereby preventing rancidity
