Grape is the fruit of a deciduous woody vine of the genus Vitis, a flowering plant, which is berry in plant.

Grapes can be eaten fresh or as edible grapes. They can also be used to make wine, jam, juice, jelly, grape seed extract, raisins, vinegar and grape seed oil. Grape is a non climacteric fruit, usually in clusters.

Grape is a fruit that grows in clusters of 15 to 300 and can be dark red, black, dark blue, yellow, green, orange and pink. "White" grapes are actually green and evolved from purple grapes. The mutation of two regulatory genes of white grape will turn off the production of anthocyanin, which is the cause of purple grape color. Anthocyanins and other pigment chemicals in the polyphenols of purple grape are the reasons for the change of purple in red wine. Grapes are usually oval, similar to the ellipsoid.
