Worm is a series of Artillery Tactical Computer Games developed by team 17, a British company. Players control a small row of worms in the deformable area, and fight with other computers or teams controlled by players. These games have distinctive and humorous cartoon style animation and various strange weapons.

The concept of the game was designed by Andy Davidson and described by Amiga game media as a hybrid between cannon fodder and lemmings. It is part of a broader type of round artillery game, in which each player controls the role of using the bullet to fight; similar games include scorched earth (1991), gorillas (1991) and artillery duel (1983).

Worm game is a turn artillery game displayed in 2D or 3D environment. Each player controls a team of worms. In the process of the game, players take turns to choose a worm. Then they use whatever tools and weapons are available to attack and kill the opponent's worms to win the game. Worms can move in the terrain in many ways, usually by walking and jumping, or by using special tools such as bungee jumping and Ninja rope to move to other inaccessible areas. There is a time limit for each round to ensure that players do not over think or move to stop the game. Time limits can be modified in some games in the worms series.
