StarCraft is a military science fiction media franchise created by Chris metzen and JA MES Phinney and owned by Blizzard Entertainment. Set in the early 26th century, the series focuses on the study of the dominance of four species in the galaxy - the adaptive and active human race, the evolving insect Zerg race, the mysterious Protoss and the "God like" Xel'Naga creator race - located in a remote part of the galaxy, known as the Koprulu region. The series debuted in the video game StarCraft in 1998. The series has evolved to include many other games as well as eight novelties, two magical story articles, board games and other licensed products, such as collectable statues and toys.

Blizzard Entertainment started in 1995 with a development team led by metzen and Phinney to plan StarCraft. The game debuted in E3 in 1996 and uses the improved Warcraft II game engine. StarCraft also marks the founding of Blizzard's entertainment film division. The game introduces an indispensable high-quality film into the storyline of the series. Most of StarCraft's original development teams went back to the game's expansion pack, broad war. The development of the game began shortly after StarCraft was released. In 2001, StarCraft: Ghost was developed with the support of nihilistic software. Unlike the previous real-time strategy games in this series, ghost is an invisible action game. After three years of development, the development of the game was delayed in 2004. The development of StarCraft 2: Wings of freedom began in 2003, while the development of StarCraft: Wings of freedom began in 2004. The game was released in May 2007 and July 2010. The sequel to the StarCraft II series is an expansion of StarCraft II: the heart of the swarm, which was released in March 2013. The third part of StarCraft II, StarCraft II: the legacy of nothingness. Issued in November 2015.

The original game and its extension were regarded as one of the benchmark real-time strategic games at that time. The series has attracted many followers around the world, especially in South Korea, where professional athletes and teams compete, win sponsorship and participate in live TV games. By June 2007, nearly 10 million copies of StarCraft and brood wars had been sold. In addition, the series won a star in 2006's "road to the game" and has four Guinness World Records in the 2008 Guinness World Records player edition.

On March 27, 2017, Blizzard released StarCraft: remastered, which is a remake of the original StarCraft. The core update is the latest graphics, revised dialogue and audio. As of April 19, 2017, StarCraft and its Jedi war extensions are available for free download and playback from Blizzard
