Scum is an upcoming multiplayer online survival game developed by gamepires, a Croatian studio, produced by croteam and released by devolver digital. The game, known as the "prison riot survival game," will have an open world. It entered steam's preemptive experience program on August 29, 2018, and plans to release the full version sometime in 2019. The game will use Unreal Engine 4.

The development of the game was first announced in August 2017, and it is planned to enter steam's preemptive experience in the second quarter of 2018. After its release, the game's Roadmap states that a full version of V. 1.0 will be available in 2019.

The game takes place on a Mediterranean inspired Island, with 64 players on each server trying to survive and leave the island by first removing the implants (preventing you from leaving). Players will gain fame points by participating in action driven events or only surviving in harsh environments. These fame points allow players to be copied back in the event of death, as well as currencies used to buy or trade in various secure areas. Players will be able to reinforce existing structures and points to ensure the location or storage items they need.

Your role will have four main attributes: strength, dexterity, constitution and intelligence. These can let you form your own favorite game style - from long-distance running to bulky tanks. It's expected to simulate the human body and therefore use a special interface connected to the player's BCU monitor, which tracks the character's calories, vitamins, health status and other statistics.
