"Cinderella" or "little glass slipper" is a folk story, which embodies the myth element of unfair oppression and victory reward. Thousands of variants are known around the world. The protagonist is a young woman who lives in an unfortunate environment and suddenly becomes a lot of wealth. Strabo, a Greek geographer, told the story of rodobi sometime between the 7th century and the 23rd century B.C. about a Greek slave girl married to the king of Egypt, which is generally regarded as the earliest variation of Cinderella's story. The first European literary version of the story was published by Giambattista Basile in Italy in his pentamerone in 1634; Charles Perrault in history or time and space published in French in 1697 the most widely known version in the English world. The brothers Grimm later published the version in their folktale collection, Grimes's fairy tales. 1812。
Although the title of the story and the names of the main characters are different in different languages, Cinderella in English folklore is the prototype name. Similarly, the word "Cinderella" means a person whose attributes are unrecognized, or who is unexpectedly recognized or successful after a period of obscurity. Cinderella's still popular stories continue to influence popular culture internationally, lending plot elements, allusions and metaphors to various media. The aarne Thompson Uther system classifies Cinderella as a tale type 510a.
The first written version of the story was published by Giambattista Basile of Italy in his pentamerone (1634) in Naples, Italy. The story itself was founded in the kingdom of Naples, which was the most important political and cultural center in southern Italy, one of the most influential capitals in Europe, and was written in Naples dialect. Later, it was restated along with other Basile stories, by Charles Perrault in history and time and space (169 7), and by the Grimes brothers in their folktale collection Grimes's Fairy Tales (1812).
The name "cenerentola" comes from the Italian word "cenere" (ash, cinder). It's related to the fact that servants and people's skins at that time were usually stained with ashes because of cleaning work, and because they had to live in a cold basement, they usually tried to sit by the fireplace to keep warm.
In 1804, Cinderella performed at the Drury Lane theatre in London and was described as "a new allegorical spectacle", although its style and content are very different from modern pantomime. But among them is the famous clown Joseph Grimaldi, whose servant is Pedro, who is the forerunner of the modern role of Barton. In 1820, among the clowns and Cinderella at the Royal Theatre, Covent Garden had many of rosini's modern stories (based on the opera La cenerentola), but it became a clown with Grimaldi as its feature. In 1830, rofino lacy used Rossini's music, but in a comic opera with many main characters, he had an oral dialogue: Baron, two stepdaughters and servant Pedro were comic characters, plus a fairy tale queen rather than a magician. However, it was Henry Byron who really led to the story and style of the modern pantomime Cinderella at the Royal strander theatre in 1860 through the transformation of funny couplets and rhyming couplets! Or lovers, lackey and little glass slippers.
In the traditional mime version, the opening scene takes place in the forest, and the hunt is in progress. Here, Cinderella first met prince charming and his "right-hand man" dandini, whose name and characters are from La cenerentola. Cinderella mistook dandini for the prince, and the prince mistook dandini for the prince. Her father Baron hardup had a servant, Cinderella's friend Barton, under the thumb of his two stepdaughters (ugly sisters). (throughout the pantomime, barons are constantly harassed by agents (usually named after current politicians) to charge high rents.) Fairy godmother must magically create a coach (made of pumpkin), a shinguard (made of mouse), a coach (frog) and a beautiful dress (RAG) for Cinderella to go to the ball. But she had to be back before midnight, when the spell stopped.
