A broom is a cleaning tool, usually consisting of a hard fiber (usually made of materials such as plastic, hair or corn husk) attached to and approximately parallel to a broom with a cylindrical handle. Therefore, it is a variety of brushes with long handles. It is usually used in combination with pan.

There is a difference between "hard broom" and "soft broom". A soft broom is used to clean the cobwebs and walls of spiders. A hard broom is used to clean dirt from the sidewalk.
