Dance is a form of performing art, which is composed of deliberately selected human movement sequences. This kind of movement has aesthetic and symbolic value and is regarded as dance by performers and observers in a specific culture. Dance can be classified and described by choreography, movement repertoire or historical period or origin.

Although the background of drama dance and participation in dance is not always completely separate, there should be important differences between them. Both may have special functions, whether social, etiquette, competitive, pornographic, martial arts or sacred / etiquette activities. It is sometimes said that other forms of human sports have dance like qualities, including martial arts, gymnastics, cheerleading, figure skating, figure swimming, marching bands and many other forms of track and field.
