CKS is a small spider, which belongs to the parasite class. Together with mites, they form a subclass of acari. CKS are exoparasites that feed on the blood of mammals, birds, sometimes reptiles and amphibians. CKS evolved in the Cretaceous, and the most common form of fossil is immersion in amber. Ticks are widely distributed all over the world, especially in warm and humid climate.

Almost all the s families belong to one of the two main families: crush family or hard tick family, which are hard to crush; while gas family or soft tick family. The ovoid or pear shaped adult has eight feet and is congested when eating. The hard tick not only has a hard protective layer on its back, but also has a beak like structure on its front, while the soft tick has a beak on its lower side of the body. Both families found potential hosts through odor or environmental changes.

There are four stages in the life cycle of CKS: egg, larva, nymph and adult. X-lice have three hosts, and it takes at least one year to complete its life cycle. The insecticidal gas has up to seven nymph stages (larvae), each of which needs blood supply. Because of their eating habits, tick worms are vectors of at least 12 diseases that affect humans and other animals.
