Viktor robertovich Tsoi, a Soviet singer and songwriter, co founded Kino, one of the most popular and influential bands in Russian music history.

Tsai was born in Leningrad and began to write songs from an early age. Throughout his career, CAI has contributed a lot of music and art works, including ten albums. After Kino's appearance and performance in the 1987 Soviet film ASA, the band's popularity soared, triggering a period known as kinomania, and playing Cai's leading role in 1988 Kazakhstan's trendy art film the needle. After a high-profile concert at the Luzhniki Stadium in 1990, CAI and his band friend Yuri kasparyan briefly moved to Latvia to create the band's next album. Two months after the concert, CAI was killed in a car accident.

He is considered one of the pioneers of Russian rock music and is widely praised for its popularity throughout the Soviet Union. He has loyal followers in many former Soviet countries (such as Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan), where he is recognized as one of the most influential and popular people in Russian music history.

Tsoi started writing songs at the age of 17. In the 1970s and 1980s, rock music was an underground movement, mainly confined to Leningrad. Moscow pop stars, backed by the Soviet government, dominated the charts and gained the most media exposure. However, rock music is not popular in the government, rock bands get little or no money, and the media rarely expose it. The Leningrad Rock Club is one of the few public places where bands are allowed to perform.

In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Tsoi was a close friend of Alexei rybin. Rybin and Tsoi, members of the hardwood band piligrimy (Russian: Пилирим, pilgrims), play bass guitar in the palata № 6 group (Russian: Палата № 6, room № 6), meet svin "Panov" in Andrei's house, people and musicians often meet in his apartment, his own punk band avtomaticheskie Udo vlet voriteli also rehearsed there. At this time, Cai began to perform the songs he wrote at the party.

CAI and leibin, as members of avtomaticheskie udovletvoriteli, went to Moscow and performed punk rock metal at the underground concert of art troitsky. In a similar performance in Leningrad on the anniversary of Andrei tropillo, the first time CAI and Repin met was Boris grebenshchikov. Later, after a solo concert in grebenshchikov, they met and Tsai played two songs to him. [26] grebenshchikov was already a famous musician in the underground band of Leningrad. He was deeply impressed by Tsoi's talent and helped him create his own band.
